Raj Green Smooth Indian Sandstone Sawn & Honed is sawn straight off the block and cut down to size. The top surface of each slab is honed, creating a smooth finish with a slight sheen and all 4 edges are machine-cut with a smooth finish to complete the contemporary look. Each slab is calibrated to 20mm in thickness. Being a natural stone a variance of up to 3mm (on average) either way and throughout the stone is to be expected but should not affect the ease of laying.

Smooth sandstone paving is as its name suggests, a mix of gentle brown, buff and green colours. Occasionally, purplish tones run through the blend, adding to the rich, traditional look of the stone.

⚠️ All Smooth Sandstone Paving is Prone to Chipping for Edges and Corners

Due to the relatively low density of sandstone, the sawn edges of sawn and honed smooth sandstone tend to be sharp, unlike hand-chiseled edges. Chipping can occur frequently, which no stone company can completely avoid. If customers are particularly concerned about chipping, we recommend avoiding the purchase of smooth sandstone with sawn edges. Alternatively, with the owner's consent, they can visit a local store and pay an additional fee to handpick the stones. In such cases, the cost is typically around twice the regular price.
